Who Is Using Facebook & Twitter in the US?
According to Comscore data of U.S. users, Facebook saw its share of visitors between the ages of 35-54 drop 3.6% to 35.4%, while the share of visitors under 18 )up 1.2 to 11.1% and age 55 and older )up 1.9 to 13.2%( made the biggest gains. MySpace To Users: We Miss You
Earlier this week MySpace sent an email, which offers a hint of how desperately they're fighing for survival. The letter came on top of an earnings report from parent News Corp that showed recent MySpace layoffs cost $107 million in severance and restructing. News Corp. also took a $168 million writedown, based mostly o the MySpace's falling valuation. To help turn the tide, MySpace sent this email begging users to give them another try: "We've missed you at Myspace lately.

The Many Looks Of the MySpace Logo
As if to offer visual proof that it's trying hard to find it's place in the social media universe, MySpace is using several different new logos simultaneously. Just weeks ago the "space" was deleted )see left(, but yesterday at the top of an official press release, it was reinserted. And if that's not confusing enough, MySpace created a new site to encourage user generated variations of the MySpace logos much like Google modifies its logo to celebrate special events.

Will Music Marketing Be Hurt By Facebook Messaging?
Yesterday, Facebook announced their own "modern messaging system" that combines email, text messaging, and instant messages into a single stream that founder Mark Zuckerberg says goes well "beyond email". The new service, which will debut Monday with an iPhone app and roll out over the next few months, mimics the behavior of teens who are already abandoning conventional email to converse across multiple platforms in short bursts.
