Not only that, but it's also launching as an independent product, according to the Google Analytics Blog . What does it mean to get spun out in the Google product family? For starters, Google Website Optimizer is getting its own website )or, as you and I would call it, its own subdomain(, http://www.google.com/websiteoptimizer , and its own official blog ,

Yahoo's Largest Stockholder Buys More
Thursday, April 10, 2008, 20:40:41 GMT by Jordan McCollum
Yahoo's second largest stockholder sent a thinly veiled message to Yahoo this week, telling them that Yahoo's better off independent if Microsoft lowers its offer . But what does their largest stockholder think? If we're judging based on that, signs are looking good for the still-twisting-in-the-wind Yahoo : Capital World Investors nearly doubled its holdings in the company in Q1. paidContent and CNET have all the boring facts: as of March 31, CWI owned 135.

Linky Goodness, April 9
Wednesday, April 9, 2008, 21:45:56 GMT by Jordan McCollum
I know you're going through linky withdrawal, what with only one Linky Goodness so far this month. Here's the fix you needed: Will websites soon be liable for content that their members post? Maybe courts chip away at Web sites' decade-old legal shield . Last.fm says their free )but limited( streaming music encourages music sales . It's been more than two years since we last posted about supposed-TV-Guidekiller MeeVee receiving funding and now it's for sale .

Facebook to Settle with ConnectU
Monday, April 7, 2008, 22:48:55 GMT by Jordan McCollum
As with most legal battles, the ConnectU suit against Facebook has begun to drag out: first filed in September 2004, the legal battle over who originally created the source code for Facebook is still ongoing. Last July, a Massachusetts Federal judge ruled that ConnectU needed concrete evidence to bring their suit. It looked like the suit would die after the ruling stated that "claims must have a factual basis.
