January was a good month for Digg with an increase in page views by 35% )our highest level since October of 2010( and Facebook referral traffic up by 67 percent.

Earlier this week, we began rolling out changes to Top News to better connect Newsrooms to the 144 headlines that make Top News each day.

We've been spending most of our time working on the Newsrooms Beta , but it's not all we're working on. Today we wanted to share our latest updates to My News. Starting from humble roots, My News has grown from a chronological list of your friends' stories to a rich blend of stories your friends are interacting with and top content from Newsrooms you've joined. We're also adding an activity feed to My News.

Several weeks ago we announced the launch of Digg Newsrooms , which represents our next step towards creating tools for finding the best news. We've received a tremendous amount of feedback from loyal users and new users alike, and many more improvements and fixes are in the pipeline. Today we're opening the Beta to all users! Trucking right along, the Digg team has a couple of new site changes to discuss which are either going live today or have already been live for a couple of days. We are running an experiment with a Digg Top News algorithm change, we have made it easier to find the best comments on a story, downvoted comments have more visibility, and we have improved user suggestions. Building on our recent launches of My News Trending and removing RSS , we have another batch of improvements launching today on Digg: streamlining the experience for new users, making it possible to filter your My News Recent by activity type, easier searching with an updated site header, improved About site with better navigation. Another couple of weeks, and a another wave of updates to Digg! Last time we released new modules, profile improvements and removed feeds . This time we have taught My News how to recognize trends , made it easier to see who has Dugg a story , launched a module showing the previous day's top comments , revamped the Find People page , and brought everyone over to new design . The Digg team has been hard at work since rolling out the new design two weeks ago, and we've put together another release for your enjoyment. Today we're rolling out a couple of new features, a much requested bug fix, and two big changes: new modules, including modules recognizing popular comments and submitters, displaying the number of times a story has been viewed, showing multiple comments per story in the user profile view, rolling out the new design to logged out users,

Everyone here at Digg is excited to announce our biggest feature release so far in 2011. Today we're beginning a rollout of three features: a new design incorporating frequent suggestions from our community, everyone's historical number of stories promoted to Top News as well as historical percentage of stories promoted to Top News, and optional on-site and email notifications when stories you submit or Digg are promoted to Top News.
